Wow, here we are at the end of another year.
Time ready does seem to fly by, doesn't it?
I think of how much things have changed...
and how much has stayed the same.

God has blessed us so abundantly again this year.
We welcomed Blake into our family.
We were blessed with enough work to keep Rich busy this year again.
We had food and shelter, clothes and a good school for the kids.
We were allowed to go to God's house every Sunday again.
And he has blessed us with our health.
We think of others that are so seriously sick.
We see it in our own extended family and it breaks our hearts.
May He still grant healing, if it is His will.

We think of the year past,
and where it has brought us.
And the coming year...
And where it will take us from here.

We may humbly hope that He will again provide for us
as He has so richly in the past.
We wish you all the Lord's blessing in 2012.

Josie was (once again) fooling around with her hair
when she got the comb completely tangled in her hair.
She came to me with a scissor and a sheepish look on her face.
Thankfully, after a lot of fiddling, we got it untangled
without having to use the scissor.  Hopefully it's a lesson learned.

And a Happy Birthday to Auntie Niet.
We hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Graduation Day!
We moved Blake into a big car seat a few days ago.
He loves sitting up tall, looking out the window!

Try as I might, I couldn't come up with a witty
caption for this picture of the kids showing off their
HUGE chocolate toonies!
Can you come up with a great caption??

Melt 3 cups white chocolate melting wafers over very low heat.

Remove from heat and add about 500grams mini pretzels.  Stir well.

Stir in M&M's to your liking.

Spread on 2 cookie sheets covered with wax paper.
Flatten as much as possible.
Cool and harden in the fridge.

Break into bite size pieces.
Try to keep the thievery to a minimum!

This morning I braved the throngs at the grocery store,
flanked my my oh-so-well-behaved (haha!) children.
We were in the veggie aisle when the little water sprinklers came on.
Dustin, in all seriousness said, "Aww, it must feel so good
for the veggies to get showered like that!"

The kids were outside playing...
and before I knew it, they were at the neighbor's,
untangling strings of Christmas lights
and checking for burnt out bulbs.

On Saturday, the kids found the perler beads
and spent some quiet time working on shapes.
I'm so amazed at the way family dynamics change
when one family member isn't in the mix.

Sugar Alert!!
Dustin came home from a birthday party this afternoon
laden with this party bag!  More than a pound of candy!!
He had no problem sharing candy with his siblings today.
There's more than enough to go around.

Reality Friday.
The sad thing is, the rest of the house isn't much better.
I have my work cut out for me today.  Better get it cleaned up before
the kids are off for 2 weeks for Christmas Break.

And you guessed right on Wednesday...
Dustin was a (camera-bored) farmer
and Josie was a school teacher.

I was pleasantly surprised to find these on the counter this morning.
Let's just say...it's exactly what I needed today.

want to be when they grow up?

This northern flicker has been visiting our place lately.
This morning, he was sitting on the bird feeder right outside
our kitchen window, but before I could take a picture
of him there, he was scared away into the tree

Am I the only one around that get a little obsessed with things
like loading the dishwasher a certain way
and making cookie dough balls all exactly the same size?
Do tell!!!

Happy Birthday Malia!
Wow, you are 3 already!

This picture was taken in March 2010.
Malia and Reuben are watching the dog,
Reuben because he's a bit stubborn about not looking at the camera,
and Malia to make sure that there was no reason to scream in fright!

This little guy hasn't had a good week, not sleeping well, awake lots
in the night, running a fever, inconsolable, which is totally NOT like him.
But TODAY he cut his first tooth!  He can't stop smiling, he's so happy..
and so am I.  Ahhh, maybe we'll all have a good sleep tonight!
