Mt. Cheam got its first dusting of snow a few nights ago.
The weather has been so nice lately
it's hard to believe that a new season is right around the corner.

Reuben is enjoying a cuddle with Blake's blankie.
I started Blake's blanket months before he was born, and then it sat...and sat...and sat in the cupboard almost finished, just waiting for the seams to be snipped and the blanket to be washed giving it the rag time look.
Then a few weeks ago, Liz K. came for a Ladies Aide baby visit, and when I told her this, she promptly asked for the blanket and started snipping.  When she went home, the blanket went with her and she happily finished his blanket.  Last week, the doorbell rang, and it was returned to me, completely finished!
I love the end result, and I think it's so special
that it's got such a fun story to go with it.

YIKES!!!
I was a little horrified to see this mess when Rich moved the washing machine away from the wall yesterday!  I think I'm going to make an effort to move the washer and dryer periodically to clean underneath them!

Mr. Winking Frog stands guard over the kids' flower garden.
He takes his job very seriously.
On his days off, he loves to catch flies...
but judging by the amount of flies in and around our place
I'm thinking that he misses more than he gets!
Must be because he's missing an eye!

Dustin's been spending hours building this house.
Yesterday it was moved into position, and the utilities hooked up.
Note the 'powerline' from the roof.
There's a 'urinal' attached to the outside wall
(downspout with 'catchbasin' underneath)!
There's a fridge, a pantry, a wash line, a parking spot.
This thing's been well thought out!
He's hoping it will rain today so when he comes home from school
he can try it out to see 'weather' it's waterproof!

This morning Josie begged to be allowed to feed Blake some applesauce.
I just love the look that these two are giving each other.

We all remember exactly what we were doing that morning
when we heard of the Twin Towers...and of the lives lost.

And September 11, 2011...
We hear the wonderful news that Kienen Hebert,
the 3 year old boy that was abducted in BC...
is HOME with his family...unharmed.

Every time I looked at Reuben, I couldn't help but think
what it would be like if he had been abducted.
3 years old...what must that boy have gone through emotionally.

The kids went to the bus stop this morning to find this in front of the house.
Mr. Beaver's been busy along our road lately.
A couple of weeks ago we came home from church to find a tree
across the road, felled by a beaver too.

This has got to be the best watermelon that we've ever tasted!
I never knew that watermelons will grow around here, but this is evidence.
