The school yearbooks that the kids brought home yesterday
were a hit with everyone.  They spent hours poring over the pages.
Even Reuben and Blake thought they were pretty cool.
And the fact that Josie is 'driving' the bus on the front cover
makes the book extra special!

Labour Day 2011
Today we went to Bridal Falls with Les and Krista & kids for a BBQ lunch and some time playing in the creek there.  The kids started building a dam in the creek with rocks, sticks, LOTS of moss, mud and whatever else they could find.  Soon Rich and Les starting helping in the process.

The water SHOULD be going down past where the men are standing...but in reality it is going to the right of the picture! (in the picture below)

The end result!

When the kids were done playing, we headed over to Les and Krista's place for a bit.  The kids were allowed to play in the neighbor's pool while supper was in the works.  All of a sudden the kids came back running as fast as they could!  "The pool blew up, the pool blew up!!"

What??

Yes, the entire wall of the pool gave way, sending the kids floating out of the pool, onto the grass!  We were so thankful that one of the adults was standing right there, because one of the boys was caught under the collapsed side.  No one got more than some cuts and scratches from the ordeal!!

September 4

On Saturday we went to the lake for a few hours,
enjoying every last minute of summer vacation...
before it's over for another year.

I can hardly believe that it's been 4 months ago that we became a family of 6.
Love seeing the kids interact with Blake, each in their own way.

Today the kids went to school to explore their new classrooms and put their school supplies in their new desks.
Josie was a little bit apprehensive, but to Dustin, it was old hat.
Four more sleeps!!!

Reuben is our animal lover.
When we were on holidays, he was missing Sasha our dog.
So when he saw this cat, he was determined to be her friend.
The owner couldn't believe that the cat would let Reuben get near,
never mind pet her and follow her around.
