This is our back door.

Nothing extraordinary about it.

The only problem?

It gets left open ALL THE TIME!!!!!

And the result is a houseful of flies!!!!

Am I the only one around that spends ALL DAY

saying, pleading, yelling

CLOSE THE DOOR!!!

Have we really gotten to this stage already?
We are starting with teeny bits...
to see if he'll sleep more than 4 hrs at a time through the night!

I have to laugh every time I look at Blake's expression on this picture.
He's got a handful of Josie's hair, and he seems to be wondering how she can be ignoring him and still be smiling with him tugging so hard!

We spent the afternoon at Stanley Park in Vancouver.
The kids biked on the seawall,
found a few seashells,
checked out the splash park...and stayed a little bit dry.

Yesterday we had the privilege of spending some time with family.
We tried out family toys...
took a break from water fun to share a snack...
and the littlest ones discussed the pros and cons of being...little!

We went to check out the new splash park by the Cheam Pool.
The kids had a great time!!

Yesterday it rained, hard, all day.
There was a big puddle on the driveway...
too hard to resist!

We encountered this bug when we were on holidays.

It's the same kind that we were buzz-bombed by on a family vacation 6 yrs ago.

Back then we nicknamed them 'Wasabeetles' and the name stuck!

This guy actually hissed at us when we were taking a closer look!

Here's a few pictures of our 'home' for the holidays.
It was a new park model, which worked out perfectly for us!

This is the outside of our place.  If you look carefully you can see that the desk is suspended over the wall, which goes straight down to the next site under us.  I wonder how many rocks and other articles were dropped into the neighbour's water fountain from above by the end of our stay.

The kids' bedroom.  They loved it!

Reuben was quite enthralled by the washing machine with the window!

The first time I used it, I thought we were having an earthquake when the spin cycle started.  The whole house started shaking and I thought we were going to fall over the wall!!

On our way home, we took a bit of time for some more fun!
Spraying bumper cars, mini golf...
and unfortunately, a nasty bee sting in the neck for Dustin.

We are so thankful to be safely home again tonight.
The kids were happy to crawl into their own beds.
And tomorrow, it's about cleaning and unpacking.
