December 2

Unbroken...
A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption.

"Riveting...an exceptional portrait...
So haunting and so beautifully written (that) those who fall under its spell
will never again feel the same way about World War II
and one of its previously unsung heroes."
- The Columbus Dispatch

I don't do a lot of reading these days, but this book...I couldn't put it down.
How blesses we truly are, living in peace,
having everything we need and want.
An eye opener, this book...

(I saw it at the Superstore this week...and it's 40% off too.
It's got a different cover though, so look for the title.)

December 1

Can't believe that littlest brother is 4 months old already.

November 25

Plunked Linden on the couch for a minute...
and came back to find this.

November 24

Wow, how 'sneaky' you are!
Standing right on top of the birdfeeder,
waiting for his first meal of the day.
Glad to report that he left with empty talons,
but not for lack of trying, mind you.

November 23

It's a keeper :)
Love where Reuben drew Linden.

November 10

No way, no how, could I convince these three to come for a walk after school today.
Going fishing is WAY more fun in their opinion.
Within 5 minutes of coming home, they were out the door again,
heading down the road to the ol' fishin' hole.

November 9

Every night, without fail, doesn't matter how late it is,
he looks in a book before going to sleep...with his flashlight :)

I had to laugh when he asked me,
"Why does this guy have whispers, Mom?"
Um, you mean whiskers??

First of November and look at the brilliant colors!
Hmmm....a little bit envious was I maybe??

October 20

'Bessie', as we've named her, seems to be the luckiest cow in the neighborhood.
The entire pasture to herself, what more could she want?
She's always quite interested in us when we go past,
sometimes eating a handful of clover that's offered,
sometimes following us all way way along the fenceline,
sometimes just listening to our chatter as we go past.

October 19

Late afternoon walks/bike rides are the BEST...

October 18

Another weekend, another scout event...
This time is was Apple Day.

October 17

Wow!
I did a double take when I looked out the kitchen window
to see this guy sitting on the railing 10ft away...
scoping out my bird feeder for a tasty lunch.
