Imagine my surprise when I opened the front door this morning,
only to find ANOTHER stolen goose egg on the deck.
Since last Monday, I've been telling myself that our dog is not the
Great Canadian Goose Egg Thief, but now I'm not so sure.

It's amazing to see how different my gardening
style is now from when we first got married.
Then, there were a few azalea bushes that my SIL Niet lovingly
planted when they owned our place before we did.
For some reason, I thought those bushes HAD to go,
and I didn't let up until they were gone.

Fast forward to this Spring.  The garden along the driveway
needed a POP of color.  And so I came home with 2 azalea bushes,
of all things!  I've been silently cringing, waiting for the moment when
Rich asks me what kind of bush I planted now.  I can just imagine
when he's gonna have to say when he realizes that I HAD to have
an azalea bush in the garden.  He's got a good memory.

Mrs. Goose is guarding her nest closely.
Early Monday morning there was a lot of squawking and terrified honking.
Then when the kids were waiting for the bus they found a goose egg on the lawn.
Then again this morning a huge ruckus.  I feared the worst.
But when I checked, she was happily sitting on her nest.
Can't wait to see the Mama and Papa swim by with their young-uns!

I'm trying to grow a vine from seed.
Anyone have success with Morning Glory?
Should I seed them indoors first to give them a head start
or directly outside in a pot?
Suggestions?  Pointers?  Any good ideas?

April showers bring May flowers!
Well, since we've made it into May, we wanna see the flowers!!
This is a picture of our Hawthorne tree in bloom last May.
Looking forward to seeing all those pretty flowers again!
Patience, patience, patience...not my strong point.
