December 28

We spent a few days in Vancouver with this kids this week.
Yesterday we went to the Gingerbread Lane display at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Because it was the last day, some of the gingerbread houses were already gone and the other ones were getting ready to be dismantled or discarded.  The organizers were happy to send us home with three of the smaller houses.  (Can you imagine how much house 'glue' there is in the van right now?)

Here the kids are standing in front of the 11ft high x 16ft wide
gingerbread house at the entrance.

Candyland town

The detail on some of the creations were absolutely amazing!

Two of the houses that the kids were allowed to take home.
The third was quite broken, so it ended up in the garbage can.

Boone Christmas Dinner...
From this picture, one would almost think that there are (almost)
no granddaughters in the family!
But for the record, there are 6 girls, 7 boys.

Thanks secret friend!
Looking forward to a bit of quiet time to delve into my book,
sip some tea, and nibble on chocolate!

The snow falling outside seems to be more exciting
than the gingerbread train they were working on.

Blake's first snow experience...
1.  'Hmm, what IS this falling white stuff anyways?'
2.  'Okay, ready to check it out!'
3.  'This is FUN!!'
4.  'Until I lost my boot...'
