February 27


I was out for a walk today and all of a sudden I heard
a swishing sound behind me. I turned to see this Cooper's (?)
Hawk snatch another bird out of the grass along the road. 

Take a look at the size of it's prey!
And he seems pretty proud to show it off too!!

    Hi Marian,
    I think you have a Sharp-Shinned Hawk. The tail is straight across. The Cooper's is slightly rounded. Wonderful pictures.

      Janna, I think that actually makes more sense. It was quite a small bird and a Cooper's is bigger. The coloring wasn't right either. Thanks!
